Child Learning Journey Policy:

Child Learning journey records are kept on each child who attends Hopscotch.  When a new child starts at Hopscotch they are allocated a Key Person who completes an All About Me sheet with the child’s parent/guardian. Information will be gathered from the child’s parent/guardian or previous setting about the child’s development so far.  During a child’s time at Hopscotch observations, photo’s, art work and other methods of evidence are collected in order to build up a clear picture of where the child is at developmentally.

Learning journey observations should be completed once a month ensuring all areas are covered.

Parent stories are given to parents on a monthly basis and are placed appropriately in the children’s learning journey folders in order to give further information about the child and their learning.  This also allows the parent/guardian the opportunity to be further involved in their child’s learning and development.
